Raphael Daden - Artist

Raphael Daden is a Nottingham/UK based sculptor working mainly with light. After graduating from Loughborough College of Art and Design, Raphael began combining different materials with light. He started working with resins while casting parts of the landscape reflecting the essence of the natural environment in urban spaces.

He has developed this process by utilising raw lights such as LEDs, and other light sources. In recent years Raphael has worked on many public art commissions, art council grants to develop his work, and has shown his work in galleries around the UK and abroad.

'It’s rewarding when you transform a space and feel that you’ve made a contribution towards regenerating a public space and area that people will enjoy and interact with'.

The regeneration of public sites provides an important opportunity for communities, who may not otherwise have much contact with contemporary art, this allows people to experience and interact with innovative artwork.

Raphael works to commission in the public domain and on private and gallery sales.
